Statement from the Board. De- affiliation of Wagga, Dubbo & Griffith Kart Clubs

Updated: Oct 12

STATEMENT FROM THE BOARD – DE AFFILIATION OF WAGGA, DUBBO & GRIFFITH KART CLUBS

Karting New South Wales (KNSW) confirm that the Board have agreed to immediately waive the notice period and therefore confirm the de-affiliation of;  Wagga & Districts Kart Racing Club, Dubbo Kart Club and Griffith Kart Club based on a recent vote by some of their members to leave Karting NSW (KNSW) and affiliate with another association.

As this information has now been shared publicly the board agreed the best way to move forward is to allow those clubs to immediately move in the direction they have chosen. This also allows KNSW and its affiliated clubs to move forward and focus on delivering quality events for KNSW Licence holders.

Although we are disappointed to loose clubs who have been part of the KNSW community for many years we do want to take the time to thank the outgoing committees and volunteers of these clubs who have given up so much of their time over the years to ensure that karters can enjoy their facilities and events.  We would also like to thank the members and associated families of those clubs who have played an integral part of ensuring that their club maintains its own unique community feel. We understand the time and effort it takes to run clubs and host karting events in a competitive market.

Members also need to be aware that as of 10th August 2024 that they will not be covered by KNSW insurance for practice at any of the tracks operated by those clubs that have chosen to disaffiliate with KNSW.

We look forward to the future and continuing to meet our objectives to provide opportunities for all to participate and enjoy the community of karting, focusing on safety, fair competition, and sportsmanship while always operating with complete transparency.
